Digi-cards will be capable of being distributed in more than 20,000 retail outlets around the United States by April of 2008, a Vital Digital LLC spokesman said today. The manufacturer of the secure content delivery system via a credit-card-like product said that most of their Digi-cards (Digimusicards, Digimoviecards, etc.) will have one of the best distribution channels via a renowned Calling Card distribution company which was not disclosed due to the ongoing contract negotiations, however Gerardo Alton-Ortega CEO of Vital Digital was quoted as saying "It′s a done deal, we have the product, they have the means and it is the last piece of our turn-key efforts to deliver the most advanced secure content delivery system to our clients". Sony BMG announced it will launch a series of digital album cards for 37 of their Artists on January 15th of 2008. The cards, based on the retail point-of-sale to full album secure download system, created by Digimusicard will be distributed in more than 4,500 retail outlets making them the first major label using this technology. Universal and Warner are expected to join later this year. "This is a victory for our technology. Digi-cards can still be used and downloaded manually by following the instructions in the back of each card.
All Artists using Digimusicards will be admitted to be eligible for Grammy nomination as per the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Digital Download rules and regulations.
